Art and science are two fundamental pillars of our societies. My personal project is to find ways to combine both and, with that, access many of the most complex issues of our times. If you follow the links below this will become self evident. I don’t do it alone because I collaborate with many very brilliant scientists, artists and collaborators, creating with them exciting projects. I consider myself a man of many talents but most importantly, an explorer in a journey that often takes me in uncharted territories. I don’t take anything for granted but I try to understand it with my own language and images, at my own terms. For this reason what I do is off the beaten path and may take time to be fully understood but that’s how I like it and that’s how I have always done it, since I can remember.

I work at the boundary between theatre and science. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Physics from Stony Brook University (New York). Just recently I also earned a Master degree in Communication of Science and Innovation from the University of Trento (Italy). On the artistic side, while I was a university student I attended several courses in acting and dramaturgy and then, to refine my training, I also enrolled and graduated from the three year program “SAT - SCHOOL AFTER THEATRE advanced training program” led by the Russian director and pedagogue Jurij Alschitz and affiliated with the EATC/Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) of Moscow (Russia). I am the founder and director of the Portland Theatre of Trento and of the Arditodesìo Company with which I have written, acted and directed in many original plays. In 2012 I co-founded, with University of Trento physics professor Stefano Oss, the Jet Propulsion Theatre, a project that brings theatre and science together, carried out in coordination with the Laboratory for the Communication of the Physical Sciences of the University of Trento. Since 2017, with Arditodesìo, I have been organising the Theatre of Wonder: an annual theatre and science festival now in its fifth year. Starting in 2020, Arditodesìo is lead partner of the Creative Europe project CURIOUS (Culture as a Unique Resource to Inspire, Outreach & Understand Science). In parallel to my artistic engagements, I also teach courses in science communication and outreach at the Physics Department of the University of Trento and the University of Bologna (Italy) and at the Master in Communication of Science and Innovation of the University of Trento.
